In case you haven't guessed it, I won an Academy Award in props today. Dream come true!!!! Why I think I am so clever I will never know :) I, of course, documented it. Whether you get to see it or not is another story all together ;) I was able to make pretty good progress today, or so I thought. I emptied 5 boxes, but there is still a lot to be done, so it's a little discouraging. Ms. Annie should be with me Tuesday and Thursday and then I think we will be done! (I hope) I found some costume floaters I kind of threw into costumes for now. I will have to deal with hanging and filing them correctly before I am finished in storage for good. I found some other possible costume bins that I will have to check with Mr. John on. However, it seemed to be a successful day in storage. I'm eager to get finished!
Back at the office... email check, phone calls made, tickets printed, and a run to the post office. Back the the office...:) I started work on Mr. John's director's book for Circle Mirror Transformation. A director's book consists of the entire play with each page having been copied and set separately. The play is 87 pages long, and I had to get copying! Luckily Ms. Kris had her copy she was finished with so she let me use that instead of copying the whole play again. Now that I had my copy I had to start cutting the pages in half, so they were all separated. I took a short break to go over some notes on the PowerPoint I'd worked on over the weekend.
Mr. John just had a dew changes. Both of us were enjoying working in PowerPoint quite a lot once we got started. Mr. John had made some color scheme adjustments and added some more photos. Grant it, it does look very different, but it definitely was a team effort. We unfortunately hit a snag in the size of the presentation and so we can't easily email it. We may have to send it through YouSendIt, but we haven't quite figured that out yet. It needs to go the the school district tomorrow, so we will figure out what exactly to do in the morning.
Back to the directors book. Once all the pages were cut, I mounted them on a new sheet of paper to be put in the binder. All the new sheets were three hole punched to be put in the binder. Each sheet got two pieces of tape, one top , and one bottom and was placed in the center of the clean sheet. This way the director has each page separated and room for notes over the course of rehearsals.
After I had finished the book, it was almost time for my voice lessons with Beth. Beth arrived at the theatre at about ten till and chatted with Mr. John and Ms. Denise. It was then time to work. I was glad to be in the theatre today and ready to work on another monologue. We went through the warm-up as usual and then chose to go over my other contemporary monologue. Needless to say, I was not very happy with my work. I am so in my head and let that get in the way. That, on top of me being annoyed and frustrated with myself do not make for a very good monologue presentation. I feel like it's so good when I work on my own and then when I go to work on it with Beth or Ms. Denise it is not so hot. Not happy about it, but I have GOT to get it together! Less than 2 weeks until my share and I have a lot of work to do! Until Tomorrow...
