LAST WEEK AS THE IDAHO FOOL

For my last postings I decided to to one big last week! I feel like the last few days I have not been in the office too much. My parents arrived yesterday, so I've been spending time with them. I have been working on my share though. Not as much as I would like, but it's coming along. The one monologue is still not sitting right. I feel like I have my last monologue where I want it to be, and the Shakespeare just needs a little more oomph. I'm hope an audience will help.

As for the song, I met with Mr. R.L. yesterday. The more I work on it the worse I think it's getting. But Mr. R.L. said I've made lots of progress, so that is the important thing. I think I have it in my head this share is the be all tell all, when really it's just to show the work I've been doing and the progress I've made.

The share is tomorrow at 11. I'm getting very nervous, and have been having dreams about it. The kind that keep you up in the night... Anyways, I digress.

In the box office, I've just been tying up loose ends and doing some final projects. I've been spending a lot of time on YouTube lately. One of my projects was to find pictures and clips for an upcoming show this summer. I also had to find clips for the Actor's Studio with John Patrick Shanley. Mr. John asked for clips for three of his movies.

As of right now I'm anxious and ready to get home. I know I will want to be back once I do get home though. I know this last week and weekend are going to be very bittersweet. I still can't believe I've been out here for 5 months, let alone that I came out here at all!!!! I'm for sure missing everyone back home, and can't wait to return!

More to come...

Days 78,79, & 80: Monologue Work, Voice Work, Singing Lessons, Mono....

Blogger down, blogger down, and no I don't mean me :) Every time I went to blog yesterday it told me the blogger was in read only mode! Needless to say I was not a happy camper, and now you all get three posts in one! Lucky day, especially because it is Friday, the 13th!

Okay, so I am a huge fail! I completely forgot I started my three day blog. Now I can't remember all the details of my days! Another FAIL! To save myself and you I'm just going to do a quick recap!

I did a lot of work to prepare for my share. I met with Ms. Denise twice. I met with Beth, and lastly I met with Mr. R.L. I was able to get some stuff together for my notes from the intern portion. It still needs some tweaking, but at least now I have that covered.

Normal office work as usual and runs to the post office. Nothing too exciting. We are gearing up for our John Patrick Shanley visit at the end of this week! So much to do and so little time to do it! I am home is 8 DAYS!!! This week will consist of tying up loose ends and preparing for my share on Thursday! Like I said, so much to do, so little time! Until tomorrow...

Day 77: Emergency Airport Run

I arrived about ten minutes late today! FAIL!! I headed to the office, and got to work. Emails as usual and a few other things. I began putting together an email invite for a Sunday Dinner to send to the company and the Dead Man's Cell Phone cast and crew. Since I will be leaving soon, we decided one of the Sunday dinners I often talk about would only be fitting for my departure. Plus my Mom and Dad will be here and everyone can experience their excellent cooking! :) Which I often talk about also!

At about 11:45 Ms. Patty called the theatre and asked if I could go get Jordan from school ASAP! Their three o'clock flight was going to be delayed so the airline saved them spots on the much earlier 1:20 flight. We had to get to the airport quick, fast, and in a hurry! I jetted to Ketchum to pick up Jor, and then headed back to Hailey to snag Ms. Patty from the house and head to the airport. We got there with just about a half hour to spare! Luckily, they made the flight! And, it was back to the theatre for me.

I stopped back in to grab a bite to eat, and then I was off again! After my lunch I headed to the post office to pick up the mail. I also stopped for a pick-me-up hot cocoa on the way back! It was also a bit chilly today so I need a little warm-me-up too. When I returned I got back to reading The House of Blue Leaves. I have now finished another play :)

I was excited to see I was getting RSVPs for Sunday dinner! We are at about 18 Yes's so far :) It will be almost like the real thing! Cannot wait!

Back to business I need to start assembling a concrete script for my Notes from the Intern portion of my share. One, I am procrastination city about it and two, I'm not sure even where to begin. Besides from the fact I pulled some blog titles, I'm not sure where to go from there. I'm thinking of reading my very first post, and possibly the most recent when the share comes up. I'm sure I mentioned it, but we were able to change the date of the share! I am even more excited because now my parents, sister, and Mert will be here to see it! I have monologue and voice work tomorrow, and on Thursday I have more monologue work and singing voice work! Lots to do to prepare! Until tomorrow...

Day 76: Back in Storage...

The day began like any other. I, of course was late coming into the office. I have got to get that together! Especially my last two weeks! I started with emails and messages, and then decided to move into the Folio binder. I had taken notes and made a to-do list of items that needed to be addressed with Martech. I began going over the list and trying to figure out if any of them I could do on my own. I did some poking through the Folio system and had no success! A call or two would have to be made to address the issues. But, first a trip to storage with Mr. John was in order to see my progress!

He was very pleased and said everything looked good. There was a few floater items and overstuffed bins. That is where Mr. John comes in. He pulled items to get rid of and told me what actually needs to come back to the theatre and what can stay. We were able to get rid of some pillows and two computers. This freed up a lot of space! Now the Frog and Toad bins are able to be filed together, and there are no longer bags of pillows floating. Most items were to be thrown away, but the few other pillows and blankets were to be dropped at Barkin' Basement.

I stopped back at the theatre to eat lunch before running some errands. The students from Sage School were rehearsing a play they have coming up to be performed at the Liberty. I enjoyed the show as I ate. I'm not exactly sure what the show was about, but it involved a lot of history and accents! After lunch it was on to my errands.

I first had to drop a copy of Commencement at Mr. Joel's that I meant to take with me when I went to  storage because it's on the way. However, I had to do some back tracking. After the drop onto the P.O. The usual in and out and I was on my way again. Last, but not least was my stop at Barkin' Basement. A quick drop of blanket and pillows and back to the theatre.

When I arrived back I got back to my Folio list. I then, called my BFF Patrick to get some help. I was able to fix 2 of the 4 problems with Patrick's help. As for the other issues, one could not be resolved, but was not a huge set-back, and the other is our email system through Folio. It is something I will have to get in touch with Gmail directly about.

I also spent a part of the day sending emails back and forth to figure out an automatic response email we can send out to patrons to confirm their ticket reservation. It is a work in progress and just waiting on the closing comments. I also have to put together a Box Office Guidebook before I leave. This will include some basics of the box office as well as a closing comments script that should be gone through with the patron on the phone at point of sale.

The rest of the day was spent reading. I'm  currently reading The House of Blue Leaves. I have unfortunately lost count of what number play this is, but I think I'm getting up there, maybe 20? Who knows, but if you look at my bag I still have a lot of reading to do, and just two weeks to do it! Until tomorrow...

Day 75: Storage is Finished?!

I began the day the usual way, checking emails and messages. I then moved into project mode. Mr. John had given me the task of putting up new pictures in the lobby behind concessions. I was loving on all the new pictures, and couldn't wait to see them up! I first had to start by taking down the old ones. However, some of the old ones were to be kept. Mr. John picked the definite keeps, and then let me decide between the others that needed to stay. It was hard to get the new photos to stay because they wanted to curl up on the corners instead of staying flat. With a little elbow grease I was able to get them to stay. I thought I had my placement all figured out, but by the time I reached the end I still had two photos left and one spot open. I had to do some rearranging and adding to the first wall to get it all to work! As you can see the pictures look great! Plus with the lobby's new paint job everything looks all around fantastic!

Mr. John had ran to lunch so the rest of the day until my trip to storage was spent manning the phones and the box office. Today in storage I had some help! One of the Guardian's sons needed service hours for school, and in storage is where he was going to spend at least three of them. When I first met my help for the day, Theo, he seemed quite and shy. However, as the day went on he began to open up and was quite enjoyable. Theo is a 7th grader at Woodriver Middle. He was very helpful in storage, and having someone to chat with definitely makes the time go much faster! I would like to say storage is done, but I won't know for sure until Mr. John has a look. There were a couple boxes I just wasn't sure how to file. We will be heading over soon to see what needs to be done.

After we had finished in storage Theo and I ran a few errands. We first stopped at the theatre so I could get my wallet, and pick up the directions Ms. Kris had left me to get Ms. Denise's computer. Then, we were off! Our first stop was to pick up the computer. No big deal, just ran in and snagged it. Theo was in charge of the car while I ran inside. After one more errand, I decided I should probably feed my worker bee. He picked KB's (Ketchum Burritos) for his "treat" (I kept telling him to pick a treat as if he was 5 years old, it ended up just being funny though) After a quick bite, we ran to Jane's. I had to pick up some poster board.
Back at the theatre it was almost time for Theo to be picked up. We spent about 2 hours in storage and another hour running errands. Service hours well earned! Once Theo was picked up I headed out for the day to prepare for Jordan's birthday weekend festivities! Until tomorrow...

Day 74: Huh-huh, huhuma-huhuma, and a shimmy oh Ahhhh!

I began the day by updating the Google calendar. The calendar is linked too all of the company's emails and is used to keep everyone in the know! I went through and added the show times for all the upcoming shows and events! As I'm typing this a realized I missed one, quick add :) After that I ran to the P.O. and to run a few errands. Those errands including snagging lunch, and picking up the dogs at home and then dropping them at the groomer. So not COF business, but it had to be done! Luckily my bosses are understanding, and let me do my dog drop :D

After all my errands I came back to the office to enjoy my lunch! A brief breather after lunch and I hit the stage to prepare for monologue work with Mr. John. I started with the warm-up Beth and I do, and then jumped into the monologues. I was able to go through all of them several times before taking a short break!

Break over, time to work! Mr. John was ready. Since I am getting different elements from Ms. Denise and Beth, Mr. John decided he would make notes on the fluidity of the pieces and how they connect. I went through them once, and he seemed pleased. He then gave suggestions on transitions and we went through them, piecing the monologues together. I feel a lot better about the pieces after our work today. I think I needed that coaching on the transitions to better fall into each character separately. More work to come! Until tomorrow!

Day 73: Folio Master & Special Guest Star Kenny Alhadeff :)

The office is not very busy today, and with Ms. Denise away, I have the box office all to my lonesome :( She will be back in on Monday though, so it won't be too long. I began by checking some emails. Mr. John had emailed me the new logo and asked about getting it on the tickets. I went into the Folio system to see if it was something I could figure out on my own. However, it was not and I had to phone a friend aka Patrick at Martech! He was out of the office at lunch so awaiting his phone call upon his return.

He called back about a half hour later, and I was ready to add the logo. He walked me through step by step what needed to be done. The process involved a lot of copy and pasting files and folders. A few clicks, copies, pastes, and moves later, we were in business! As you can see it looks great! I was so excited we were able to get it to work I printed a fake-me-out ticket to show Mr. John. I'm very easily impressed with myself. Really, Patrick did all the work, I just followed directions :)

I then made a post office run. I rode my bike to work today, so I was loving riding around town. However, the whole town obviously isn't the safe bike trail so I was a little nervous on my ride to the P.O. I had a slight fail this morning on my bike though. On my way into work I was going down hill and went over a bump and my basket broke and fell off! it was probably because my bag of books was in there, but it had made it that far so I was very surprised! I was even more surprised I didn't completely go over the basket and flip me and the entire bike! Oh adventures in biking, my only hope for the ride home is that the wind is not against me, I dealt with that yesterday and let me tell you, it was slow motion city!

SURPRISE!!!!! Mr. Kenny Alhadeff called me today! In case you don't remember he is one of the Memphis producers. I had texted him last week to follow-up on an email I had sent. I was a little disappointed when I didn't hear back, but being a big time producer I knew he was a busy man. To my surprise and delight I got a follow-up phone call this afternoon. We briefly spoke about his beginnings in theatre and how he went from business man to producer. I have finally begun work on my paper. With my new information I should be able to put together a great introduction! (I hope!) I am currently working on that right now. It is not as great as I would like, but there is room to grow!

My paper is finally finished!!! Nearly three months later, but hey, better late than never :) I'm pretty proud of what I ended up putting together, even though I am not the best of writers. I was able to use all the information in my notes and include everything from our interview. I hope it came out okay to others. I will most likely be sending copies to Towson and To Ms. Denise and Mr. John. I am so glad that I have finally finished, I was beginning to think it would never get done. Thank you Kenny Alhadeff for your time and great insight. I am so appreciative you spoke to me, not only once, but twice! DAY MADE :):):)

I am jumping into a new play for the rest of my day at the office. Just under and hour until quitting time. I manged to log the last event of the season into Folio today as well! Such a productive day for a Wednesday! Until Tomorrow...
